Time Required to Complete your BACHELORS
Because Australia (and most other countries outside of the USA) does not require the 2 years of General Education (you go straight to your major right out of Senior grade), you can complete your Bachelors degree in as little as 2 years (or law in just under 3 years or medicine in just under 5 years). Also, Bond is a year round school (other Australian universities take 3 years to complete a Bachelors Degree).
This means completing your degree in half the time for half the cost. And the good news, under the Free Trade Agreement between the USA and Australia, a 2 year degree from Australia is equivalent to a 4 year bachelors from the USA.
Completing an Bachelors Degree in this time frame provides some serious advantages to your career including a 2 year head start on earning an income and accelerated career development. Of course, not paying an additional 2 years of tuition and living expenses provides significant financial benefit.
Semester Dates

Student & Work Visas
As when traveling to many countries, you need to seek permission from that country to stay for extended periods of time. Accordingly, you will require a student visa to study at Bond. A Student Visa may only be applied for once you are accepted to study at Bond University and you have received your Confirmation of Enrollment. Don't sweat it though. We guide you through this process and make it pain free. It can take up to 6 weeks (but is often much shorter) to get your Visa so getting your application to us ASAP means we can get everything done in time.
Your student visa allows you to work upto 20 hours per week. Students are still not allowed to work until they have started their course, though, and the hours they can work have not been changed. This applies to both students and any family members travelling with them on their visa.
Work rights give students permission to work up to 20 hours a week while their course is in session and unlimited hours during scheduled course breaks.

Using your Bond BACHELORS for employment in the USA
There is an arrangement between the Australian Government and the US Government for reciprocal degree recognition. This means a USA degree can be used in Australia, and an Australian university degree can be used in the USA. This arrangement was further reinforced by its inclusion in the 2004 Free Trade Agreement between Australia and the USA (AUSFTA).
For specialist industries, each state in the USA has it's own requirements and it is worth investigating with the governing body of your specialist profession to learn the additional requirements for foreign degrees.
Accounting
Australia has signed a mutual recognition agreement (MRA) with the United States in regard to accounting degrees. This agreement allows those who graduate with an accounting degree from Australia and complete the CPA program, to apply for employment in 39 US states without any additional requirements.
Law
Graduates with an Australian law qualification who have been admitted to practice in Australia may be eligible to sit for the bar examinations and obtain admission in some American states. Admission in these states is controlled by local state bar associations and the state supreme courts. Information about admission requirements for foreign law degrees is available through the American Bar Association website. A resolution by the United States Conference of Chief Justices urging improved access for Australian lawyers in the US has been welcomed by the Australian Government. It is expected that under the AUSFTA, that a number of states will lift restrictions on Australian law degrees. (New Orleans Feb 2007)
Medicine
The Bond University Medical Program has been accredited by the Australian Medical Council. This is a rigorous assessment process, and only medical programs which meet or exceed the required standards are approved. It means graduates are eligible for registration as a medical practitioner in any State or Territory of Australia. This does not extend a graduate automatic reciprocity of recognition of their qualification in the USA. Graduates should ascertain what the respective registration requirements are.

Entry Requirements for North American Students
Each application is assessed on an individual basis. A number of factors, including high school, college studies and work experience (for mature age students) are considered.
USA Students: High School Diploma (Senior) plus SAT of 1650 / 2400, or an ACT score greater than 24. The GPA is reviewed in context with the assessment process. Excluding the Law program.
For the Bachelors of Laws: Completed High School Diploma (Senior) plus SAT I: Critical Reading, SAT I: Mathematics and SAT I: Writing with a composite score of at least 2040. ACT score of at least 31. The law program is 8 semester with no general education year. Bond teaches year round.
Law students are not required to take the LSATs and Medicine students are not required to take the MCATs. There are more detailed requirements for medical applicants, please review the student guide.
Canadian Students: Provincial High School Diploma or Ontario Secondary School Diploma + 5 OAC subjects (minimum 65% average).
